Prayer Room

On Earth as it is in Heaven

Prayer Room Schedule

7:00P - 9:00P - Intercession

7:00P - 9:00P - Worship With the Word

Why Prayer?

In this time, the body of Christ is being called to return to putting the first commandment in first place, that we would love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We believe that God is worthy of night and day worship, and that the product of this relationship of worship and adoration is mature disciples who walk in obedience to the commandments of scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit. As the first commandment is honored in our hearts, the second commandment is fulfilled from the overflow of love, as opposed to the obligation of religious obligation.

This is why the place of prayer is at the center of our activities as a community. Our desire is that God's will would be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

What to Do in the Prayer Room

All are welcome to come and go freely and to stay in the prayer room as long as they like. While in the prayer room, feel free to join in with the corporate worship and prayer, read your Bible, study a favorite commentary, write in your journal, or engage in private prayer. You may sit, stand, or pace up and down the aisles. Whatever you do, we ask that you do it in a manner that honors and serves the other people in the room.

The Harp & Bowl Prayer Model

Here at Legacy Church, we use a model called Harp & Bowl to structure our prayer meetings. The origin of its name comes from Revelation 5:8 where we see the interaction of worship and prayer taking place in heaven around the throne of God.

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”

Enjoyable & Sustainable Prayer

The Harp & Bowl model assists in creating an atmosphere of enjoyable and sustainable prayer. Worship opens the heart to exalt, encounter, and enjoy the reality of God’s glory. From this posture of worship and adoration, we partner with Him through intercession, praying for His purposes to be accomplished on the earth. We believe that prayer is best sustained when fueled by God’s heart and established upon the truth of the Bible. Therefore, we root our intercession in Biblical prayers prayed by the apostles; these prayers are inspired by the Holy Spirit, therefore we know these are prayers that God wants to answer.

Two Formats

Intercession: Energized prayer focused on a topic.

Worship with the Word: Devotional worship and prayer focused on a portion of scripture.
